The safety improvements
Norfolk County Council is planning a package of safety works along Hall Road (Queens Road to the Lakenham Road/Barrett Road roundabout), based on its Route Safety Study. The proposals focus on:
Southwell Road zebra crossing (near the Co-op): upgraded crossing markings/surfacing, improved lighting and beacons, carriageway narrowing, and minor junction tightening to reduce turning speeds and improve pedestrian visibility.
Southern section (towards Lakenham Road): a small number of speed cushions to improve 20mph compliance, plus bollards near Hewett Academy to deter footway parking at peak times.
